Manual labor or work is an integral part of our monastic life and the whole of our lives is, in effect, the Work of God, the Opus Dei. We organize our monastic time table in such a way that there is substantial time for work in the course of the day. The monks get engaged in teaching the young in School, in formation house and in parish activities. In the evenings we do manual work in the farm, cattle shed, guest rooms etc. We have a plot of land in Palakkad region of Kerala state in South India where two of our monks work and take care of the agricultural land.
